About Dr. Andrew Zirschky
Andrew Zirschky, Ph.D., is a scholar, professor, ministry leader, consultant, and expert witness whose work focuses on youth ministry, church safety, abuse prevention, injury prevention, risk management, and standards of care in faith-based organizations.
Dr. Zirschky serves as Research Professor of Youth Ministry and Director of the Master of Arts in Youth Ministry program at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and has spent more than two decades teaching, leading, researching, and consulting with churches, denominations, youth ministries, and faith-based organizations.
His professional work has focused extensively on the practices, systems, and structures by which churches care for children, youth, families, staff, volunteers, and congregations — including the policies and practices necessary to prevent abuse, reduce the risk of injury, supervise ministry programs, and respond appropriately when concerns or allegations arise.
